i sugest not cuttin them... what tires are you runnin the hammer or lizzards? if the lizzards get new tires.. if hammers tray adding a bit of weight to the wheels

You can do a star cut or channeling but you really don't need to. I would recommend using the foams the way they are unless you are going to double stuff. The big question is what kind of tires.

depending on if you are planning on buying new tires or not, hers another option:

i ordered imex claw dawgs from tower hobbies for my ax-10, however they have only a 4" outer diameter(dispite what the tower hobbies website says) they came with a 4" memory foam type foam, which i narrowed and used inside the lizards, which perform ok for general use in my opinion.

so, if you order new tires, order them without any foams, and order a separate set of foam inserts for regular 2.2" tires, it till give a 5" tire a little over 1/2" squat, the bigger tires may need bigger foams. i find this method works well.

heres a pic to make it a little more clear.

Tires negate what foams work. Cutting foams,IMHO,is overated. Picking the right foam for the right tire is key. They all do a little different with different tires and weight set ups.

If you cut them do so in the star pattern. You would be better off using the right foams and the right tires but if you are stuck with what you have you could try the star pattern first.
