Default which motor?

Hi,
I have Tamiya TLT-1 with 12T pinion gear and 83T spur gear, all I need is slow speed and more torque for crawling, integy motor has 45T, 55T, 65T and 75T, they are all about the same prices, I don't know which one is best for me, or do I have other choices?
Anyone know the spec for integy motors, I couldn't find them from official website?
Thanx!

Well, it will depend on what type of truck this motor is going in (scaler or comp crawler) and what transmission you will be using, but I have found that the 45T works quite well in most TLT based applications.

Thank you JeremyH.
Now I'm using Tamiya stock transmission, should I try Integy 45T first (V10 or V11)? what combination of transmission and motor do you suggest?
Thanx!

A 45t is a good wind to start with. If you want some wheelspeed the 35t is great, if you want long runtime the 55t is your best bet.

Thank you JohnRobHolmes.
I found 45T, 65T and 75T in a local store, all at the same prices, should I get 65T?
Do I need to weld capacitor on the motor? which capacitor?
Thanx!

anything over 55 turns is mind numbingly slow

id highly suggest going w/ a 45 for beginers. learn how to control your throttle finger then maybe bump up to 35t if you feel you need some extra wheelspeed

After you purchase a new motor, the next item that you'll want to upgrade is the stock TLT transmission. It is belt driven and will quickly begin to skip teeth. A transmission for an Axial AX10 is a nice upgrade. It wont be a direct bolt in, but I am sure that you can make it work. If you post up a bit more information about your truck and possibly a few pictures (with the body off), we can help you more...

Thank you all for the replies.

At this moment, my truck is about the original stock Tamiya TLT-1, I'd like to remain the size as possible but increase its crawling ability (I don't mind losing the speed), I'm thinking of get a good motor, transmission and tires, extend and widen a bit about the links and wheels.

Is there a big differents between Tamiya stock moto(RS-540SH) and Integy 45T? I know is not a good question, but the differents of RPM and torque obviously?
Thanx!

ps.sorry for my poor english!

Tekin's hand wound 55t is amazing, on the highlifts it can go like 7 mph and crawl up walls, its fast and powerful,

They are pretty close to the same wheelspeed (if not a little bit slower) as the stock silvercan motor but the Integy motor will have a lot more torque.

Thank you constantmotion.

How about the differents between Integy 45T and 55T? 55T has more wheelspeed or more torque?
Thanx!

55t has more torque. Higher the wind, more torque less wheelspeed. If you looking for a good brushed motor with a good combination of wheelspeed and torque, you should check out a HH Puller, best motor I have ever ran.

Thank you t_kirl.

Is wheelspeed important in crawling motion?
Thanx!

Wheelspeed is nice to have at certain times. It can make break overs easier.

Default which motor

Hi Ryan,

Check out the Q78 size for the TSL. It has more tread depth and a narrower section width which should increase contact pressure. I think its 35.5OD x 10.5 and a pretty popular size for 15 and 16 size wheels.

Novak 55T you can't go wrong. Dependable, long life and decent price.
