Default axial artr

I was wondering what a good motor and esc setup would be for a axial 10 artr? Thanks

Depends on what you want to do with it and your budget. The middle ground for a crawler setup is the Novak Rooster with a 45/55T motor, this combo will run you about $100.

I would not recommend a Novak Rooster!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:? It will not handle 3cell lipos and it is no cheaper than a fxr/45 combo or sidewinder/integy 45t. I nearly always recommend the fxr/45 combo. Best bang for the buck out there. Also if ya are getting set up start out with lipo batterys, A good charger and and a couple of zippy 3c pacs can be had for little more than a nimh stick and charger. You will thank me later

hit up ebay, you can get 3s packs like this..
http://cgi.ebay.ca/2x-25c-1500mAh-11...d=p3286.c0.m14

and a charger like this

http://cgi.ebay.ca/iMAX-B6-Digital-R...d=p3286.c0.m14

thats only 50bucks... most ppl here will say they have had great lucks with the e-bay lipos, and if you want upgrade to a better charger in the future, but at 50 bucks its no moer then buying a nimh set up from your LHS.

and No the stick packs wont help for weight, they are BIG and heavy and its hard to get them down any where low with out looking ghetto to big to fit on the axle nicely IMO

yeah they are cheap every one just goes for the fancy pants $100 a batter ones, but these work just as good, that charger will do every thing you need it to do, its a little bit slow on the charge balance mode but o well... the AC power supply lets you plug the charger into a house hold outlet. you dont NEED it, you can still charge off a 12v DC (*car battery) with the supplied alagator clips

The AC adapter for that Imax charger is only $6.
The charge time might be a bit slow but from what I've read people are getting run times around an hour with the fxr/45t and 1500mah lipo. If you've got two lipos, by the time you run down one the other will be charged.

I've ordered the imax b6 and a 3s 1500 lipo. I will be getting the fxr and 45T combo also. I expect this to be much faster and longer run times compared to the stock axial esc/55t/7.2 nimh I'm currently running.

Good beginner combo. Novak rooster with 45 t motor.
Better combo. Tekin FX-R with 35 or 45t motor. (every once in a while a bad one shows up but tekin has great customer service and will replace it)
Comp ready combo. Mamba Max with holmes hobbies 7 turn puller!!!!!

I still don't understand why the 7T puller motor is a good choice when most people are running 45 or 55 turn motors? Lots of people make this recommendation though.

Watch this video and see!!!

It has more torque than almost any motor out there and the wheelspeed is awesome. Nuff said!

Seriously??? They are smoother than a tub of butter and have explosive wheel speed when needed. They crawl better than any 55t and and outrun most 35t motors

Well that video is pretty impressive. That 7turn motor sure launches that truck when needed!

What esc would you guys recommend with that 7T?

I've pretty well settled on the fxr/45T combo but have yet to place the order. Might have to reconsider....

I assume the 7T would really take away from the long runtimes people are reporting with the 45T?
