Yes, I assumed it was a li-ion when he said lap-top. Not sure how many cell it is though. Either way a 3S works good on the 1/6 scale (soon to try 4S)

That's strange, I just converted mine to 3S and surges at exactly 10.5 volts. It works perfect as my LCV :-P . I figured a 4S may be overdischarged before one realised it.

| Anyone use D cells? 10,000mah
I found some D cells that are 10,000mah and 1.2V X 10 for a total of 3 3/4 lbs which is about the same as stock but 2 1/2 times the runtime. Is the runtime worth the weight and space on a custom chassis?

I would say it is definately not "worth the weight" then again I am using only 1700-2000 and get bored with the run-time. I like it lite. |

| link --- http://cgi.ebay.com/4-Pcs-D-Size-100...QQcmdZViewItem eBay # 9735439601 9 D-cells are about the same size as the stock batt. I can drop 10 in place of the stock batt in the stock chassis and still snap the body on with no problems. Just need a way to connect them and still be able to charge them. |

Anybody just try dropping in 2 six cell packs yet??? I have 2 coming, but I don't want to fry the boards but I really don't want to make a pack out of them lol.

I have an old circuiboard that is fried except for the steering turning one way, so when i get some 7.2 packs i will try it, and if it works, I will go with it on my good one...im not too optimistic about it though, that seems overkill for the circuitboard. -Dalton Last edited by hotrodzach; 06-11-2006 at 10:32 AM. |

I used 12 cells in mine for a while until I went to lipo. They were AA though. I expect it to take over 20 volts.

then i guess i will just try two 9.6 volt batteries. I really don't have much to lose since the circuitboard is already useless except for this one test. -Dalton |

there have been a couple people who ran the nylints on 14.4 volts without a problem.... 19.2 might be the death of it...... |
