|  need some help with electronics and things
hey guys so im pretty new to crawling ( i only have bought an mrc and havent modded much in iit lol) so i thought as entring this forum i would post a question... i am buying an scx10 because i really want a scaler and im not sure about anyyyy of the electronics..i would like a more crawler style torque one like the rooster i think is wat its called? and i definitly want a drag brake. i have a traxxas receiver from my slash can i use that with it? thanks in advance for helpin me out and any other tips would be appreciated!!!!!!!

Well the novak rooster crawler esc is a good esc, fxr is another good choice but i have no experience with them. Your traxxas receiver should work, i would give more tips but i dont have the scx10 :-(

servo that really depends on what kind money you have you can break the bank pretty easy on those haha. as far as the rest go. tekin fxr with a 35t motor (will give you great low speed controll and wheel speed when you need it) great for a scaler, and tons of adjustment  tx/rx your traxxas should work just fine look into the e-bay lipos and charger , i have the "win force" 3s packs and the b6 charger, 2 batts and charger will run you about 80 bucks, great way to get into lipo with out haveing to drop huge cash, and if you look ALOT of guys here have great luck with the e-bay lipos. oh, and look in to a CCBEC , it will help ther servo preform better and take some load off the esc, defiantly worth it hope this helps Last edited by ultimate_monkey; 09-27-2009 at 09:33 AM. |

In my SCX I am running a Rooster Crawler esc with a 27t motor and 14t pinion. For a battery I am using a Promatch Racing 5200mah 2s lipo. The run times are crazy long with this combo and the torque is good with a nice top end speed. For steering I am using a Hitec 645mg, works good for a scale rig.
