40 Series on ax10 axles

I am looking to see if any one has put 40 series tires and wheels on a ax10 axles. Does it work well. If not what does it take to put them on and is it worth it to put some on. I think my ax10 would look badass and crawl pretty well if it had some bigger tires. Would i have to do any modifying to the drivetrain, gears, or axles themselves. Also does anyone have any pic of this being done.

It can be done with using Hot Racing 12 to 17 mm adapters and axial 40's wheels. Just FYI, it will not crawl so good. I assume it'll move pretty slowly and you'll be breaking drivetain and axle internals constantly. You better off getting clod axles...Again Just my 2 cents.

your going to need some wheel extensions and every heavy duty part you can find for your axles.

p.s. are you from ashland oregon?

Those Hot Racing I mention above are both 12 to 17 adaptor and extensions, adds about 1 1/8 of an inch each side. also I agree about undate everything to heavy duty... but still...

Expect some durability issues for sure..

I was hoping that it would be a bad ass thing to do. But i guess i will be better off sticking to the 2.2's if i am going with strength.

PS: i am from ashland Va, not oregon.

If i were to run 40 series tires and wheels. what parts would i need to buy to make it crawl decent and drive without breaking parts every three inches.

40 Series

What parts would i need to get to run 40 series tires and wheels on my ax10 stock axle. I want it to be able to crawl somewhat decent and not break every three feet. Is there a way to accomplish this idea or is way too stupid. I like my shafty axles and don't want to resort to bergs.

Stupid, Axial axles were not designed for 40 series. Thats like putting 40's on a Dana 30.

honestly i am all for new things
but you wont gain anything out of 40 series wheels/tires
you could up grade all you knuckles c's strait axles shafts r & p gears but i still see you breaking axle housings
and also you would need to upgrade all you drive lines trans. and gear your motor super low and have a good quality motor because it will heat up quick
same goes with esc
some of this may be worst case scenario
but someone on here did 40 series wheels as a mock up farting around thing
they hit everything
you would have no steering
