I agree, you get what you pay for. But I am gonna stick with my stock wheels for now, unless I can find a really good deal.

you dont NEED $150 wheels really for more than asthetics. yea there are some advantages.... but take the comp @ red rocks for example, casey childs took 2nd, and his rims aint all fancy dancy. there were a great deal of dudes using plastic wheels to keep their rigs light. Jay from losi uses plastic often as well. lighter = better, and with the proper weight distrobution, there really are no advantages that i can see other than "durability" and the ones that have the bad ass ring around then for sidehilling and such |

#1 like you said there durable #2 wheels like the DH from Vanquish you can change weight easily in between rounds. #3 like you said that ring for sidehilling and it helps in other spots to. #4 having the ability to change hex adapters to set track with .With a set of wheels that have that feature the wheels will be able to change to different trucks by buying different offset adapters instead of a whole set of wheels. They are not necessary but they do have a ton of advantages. | |

You said that some people are using plastic wheels to keep their rigs light. How light are you talking about? (total rig weight and wheel weight?) And are they putting weights in their front wheels? And what did you mean by "bad ass ring around them" ? |

I have a problem with the Leopards middle lugs riping back...I still run them all the time and they seem to be staying the same and not getting any worse...The Leopards do work much much better as you wear them down...Every day they get better and better. The lugs were a little tall and thick. Now they are rounded a bit and worn down they work amazing. If you have a pair your lucky ) |

| No not really. I think they got jacked up when they riped them out of the molds. But on the rig they have not riped any more than they were when I got them, and I run a tire eating setup. Losi MOA, HH Cobalt Puller 500s. I didn't bother with gluing them back onto the tire like some did. |

How light were the trucks at the comp BOB mentioned earlier? You said they were running plastic wheels just to cut weight. I am confused because even if I add 6 oz of weight to my front wheels my total weight is only 4 lbs 8oz (AX10). I think you may be using more weight than I am, how much are you using?

I am sure he was talking about Jake H. and several others. Most of them are running berg based trucks. Most of them are running plastic to keep the rear light but are adding 6-8 ounces each to the fronts. If I had to guess there rigs are still in the high 5-6lb range. My berg with VP DH ProComps in the front with 3 weights each wheel"13 ounces total each" and VP SLW 1.35 wheels in the rear I am at 6lb3ounces. |

MOAs are heavier than AX10s: Extra motor + alum housings/gearboxes & steel gears. So light wheels can save some weight. An axial can easily be under 5lbs. A berg is hard to get under 6lbs. A bully is next to impossible to get under 7 lbs. What all this means to tires and foams is more wieght needs heavier foam and/or harder compounds/sidewalls. What works on an ax10 might not be too good on a bully.

I think he meant Cougars. I have the Cougars on mine but have been thinking about going to the Leopards. He is running the Rovers. We know each other by the way... If I recall, the Rovers are 5.5" right? I know the Leopards are 5.4" and I think the Cougars are 5". I wasn't a big fan of a bigger tire before, but after seeing what the diameter and clearance are doing for him, I'm sold. Doesn't seem to affect the tipping much if at all.
