Question cheap crawler?

Hey, noob here with a noob friend thats looking into getting into crawling for cheap cheap money. I myself have a scale cc-01 but he wants a more agressive crawler, not so much a scale truck. He was lookin to get a redcat racing rockslide rs10

http://www.redcatracing.com/RC-Cars/...-Scale-Crawler

Has anyone ever heard anything about these? Good or bad, they're on ebay for like $160 rtr. any help on this one?

Welcome! I have one of the RS10 rockslides and love it. I've been running mine for close to 5-6 months now without breaking anything and have also been steadily upgrading it. Here's a thread about mine so you can see upgrade options:
Redcat RS10 revisited

You'll likely have folks try to steer your friend away from this rig because it's so inexpensive, but honestly if your friend is on a low budget and doesn't plan on doing competitions I would definitely recommend going for it. Out of the box it does OK...it's nothing spectacular. The most helpful upgrade you can do is a new set of tires ASAP...that drastically improves the potential of them. The stock battery charger isn't too good either, I actually got better run times off the stock battery by charging it with a different charger. You can have quite the capable crawler for under $200 with this thing. Do a search for "rs10" and take a look at some of the other topics, or feel free to post in the thread I made. Several RS10 owners have been posting on there so one of us would definitely help out. good luck

that crazy grille is actually on the 1/8 scale redcat rig...not the 1/10. the 1/10 has some "wing" looking things on top of the axles, but can be removed easily.
