x-crawler rebuild

i built a x-crawler as my first crawler 1-2 years ago and striped it to build my toyota scx-10 and i sold that with all the electronics off the x and i want to rebuild it as mor of a comp crawler so as a chassis i had a getto pimp-cane i made from some c-channel with a 19"WB and a need it needs to be between 16-18" to legal and i cant deside? I also need electronics i ran 4 hitec 645s and they were to hard on the esc and not enough torqe to push and pull the wheels so im looking at 1/4 scale servos but i dont know wut ones work best on a crawler. i plan on runnig the rooster crawler agin but dont know if it can take a 45t combo as the limit is 1 27t and also need a 3ch transmitter that has i 3 way third channel swich and desiding if i want to tinker around with digs. so any advise would help me out and im trying to do it for under $400
