A slider is a drivehsaft made by traxxas. They are able to slider in and out so you can have the suspension flex without the driveshaft falling out. Also, you can adjust your wheelbase without having to buy new d shafts.

There are 3 kinds, pede sliders fit well on the TLT, maxx sliders are a little beefier but don't fit on a TLT well. Revo sliders are the strongest and should fit anywhere maxx sliders do.

If you need to stick revo sliders on your TLT you are one sadistic person.... Poor TLT axles....

actually there are four types of traxxas sliders. the fourth is the 4 tec slider which is shorter than the pede slider but is the same diameter. the part numbers are 1951 for two sets of sliders 1953 for 6 sliders and 4628 for the plastic outputs and 4628x for the metal outputs.

The only problem is you wont be able to bolt those up unless you switch to the other diff from tamiya that will fit in the tlt or if you have a stampede gear box in your tlt. You can also bolt them up if you grind your outputs on your stock diff into the shape of the outputs and drill a hole threw it and basically make in into an output but that is pretty had to do. (i would know ive done it twice)

Also you cant use maxx or revo shafts on a stampede tranny. To you those you would have to make some kind of adapter

I think you're thinking of the traxxas 4-tec diff. That's the one that fits into the TLT and allows sliders to be bolted up.

Hellow guys!!
I am "new" here, and love RCcrawler a lot!!
I come form TAIWAN,so my english is not very well
Hope can community with you guys successfully.

I bought a TLT last month and just assembled it.
Now I have some question about the center diff.
The question is "IF I want to use the traxxas part#4951 sliders
I will need to buy #4628 to connect the axles, but I dont know how to
connect the slider with center diff,I read the past post some guys say the
4-tec diff will fit the tlt-1,it means take the tamiya stock center diff away
then put the 4-tec diff in ??"
Can someone kindly show me the pics in detail and provide the part number for me??I will be deeply appreciative of your help!!

Electric 4tec diff: (PN# 4280 [entire diff, $24])
For the diff housing and gear (no diff screw or balls) PN#4281, 4282, 4283, 2722, 4360 for a total cost of $18.00
You will also need PN# 4255 which are the output yokes from the diff ($6.50)
You can also use the Traxxas street sport diff

also you can use the stock diff if you are cheap like me. Unfortunatly it requires some tools and a bit of experience on them. I will be making a thread about this soon.

Not really the right place to ask about the VMG. You have to either make your own longer dogbones (not too hard, just get some tubing and JB weld) or use the mini-t CVD's. Go to one18th.com for more info on VMG's.
