Question ? Redcat RC 10 ?

I've been playing with my car for a while, and there's a few things I'd like to do to it, but am not sure where to get the stuff, or if my ideas will work. I built my own 1:1 crawler that works great, but it only has one engine, and it isn't on the axle, so i know there are things that won't transfer directly over.

Here's what I'm looking at -

Bent lower arms for more rock clearance

Bigger (taller) tires with a softer stickier compound

Larger (in terms of torque) motors with greater range. My rear motor stalls out sometimes on technical stuff (like vertical walls just less than the wheelbase) at very low speed. More torque should take care of the stall issue, greater RPM range should allow me to go both slower and faster.

A Jeep body, preferably CJ-5. (It came with a Hummer body, probably the least capable 4x4 in the world in 1:1; what's up with that?)

Paint that will stick to these lightweight plastic parts.

Where could i source parts, and will any of these ideas work?

TIA!

bent lower arms - might have to reconfigure the shock mount as the shocks mount to the lower links, but should be an easy mod...pretty sure the axial sized bent links would work.

bigger tires - white compound HB rovers are amazing for this rig, but any good tire like panthers, rock claws/comp claws, etc... would be good.

motors - a bit of an issue, but good motors can be found. I run 13 turn cobalts in mine, and I hear the holmes hobbies motors are good too, but a tad pricey.

jeep body - http://www.tcscrawlers.com/HPI-Jeep-...2-p-16259.html
there should be plenty of cool jeep scaler bodies available...maybe the scaler guys will chime in.

paint - any lexan specific paint would be good...check your local hobby shop.

I made a post about the redcat RS10's you should check out. It has plenty of info about upgrades...post any further questions you have in that post.

I got mine directly from redcat. I've seen them cheaper, after i bought it, from other vendors, but not on eBay... eBay prices were higher.

My first RC car, and it's a blast. The dog chases it, the wife hates it, the grandkids love it. Roll it over and don't get hurt....
