Default new build (looking for a chassis)

actually i found one but thought i would ask around.
team3six put up a link for me in another forum and i really like it.
i had another picked out but long story short it's not available.
here is the link, let me know what you think. hey that rhymed
http://www.hobbyetc.com/cgi-bin/item.cgi?part_id=58461

this is what i like. 58 bucks. thats about it. oh and its aluminum. i like light. at least i like it light in the right places. i like tubers as well but i really like the looks of this style. except the little round window in the back that makes it look like a little horse and carrige buggy.

i have already obtained the axles (axial)

i have never been to a comp and may never be. but i like a good performing rig.

my concept for this build is top quality low budget. by low budget i don't mean i have no money and will skrimp on important parts of the truck it just means i know i can build a great performing truck without spending 250 on axles and 300 on a chassis. nothing against guys who do.

i like to buy and build instead of out of the box rollers. i will also upgrade as needed not just upgrade because its there. people drive different so i will break different things. thats where i will start my upgrades.

any help is great 3six has been a big help already. (he got me over here)

Default Nice

That looks like a very adustable chassis. I've never seen one of those set up before but it looks like it would be sweet without a body! If your lookin to run a body, the VP chassis seems like a good choice.I have one that I'm setting up now. It's definately comp oriented. Alot of the new chassis are very narrow,so make sure that the parts you get will fit together! Thats how I got my chassis,it wouldn't fit well with some of the parts the PO had.
Build pics would be cool,ya I know,I should put some up also:? Maybe later this weekend?

there's a thread on here about how that chassis is an exact copy of a sponsors chassis, and other reasons to avoid hot racing and integy. at least is cut from flat stock so it might not look like a beaver machined it though, still it's probably weak soft alum.

been 11 days since i ordered and not johns fault but the chassis was not in stock and that info wasn't passed back to him so he had no idea.
but none the less it will be here soon i hope. then i will post up some build photos

I've played with both The fast lane an HR chassis (I really like the style) and just could never get the front shocks in a good place. :-(
And HR uses junk alum.

thinking of mounting my shocks on the links. anyone have an opinion on this. a link to a bracket that would do it would be much appreciated.

still have some work to do on the links. really happy with it so far. excited to get my motor and esc for Christmas. i put a motor in that was laying around to see if it would still balance on its side with the weight in it.
here are the progress photos as of this morning.

The chassis he spoke of is a pre production prototype not available to the masses just team drivers at this time

I am only posting this pic cause you asked to see it. They aren't for sale though and i am not looking to hear what people might pay or if they want one. I make these for the team drivers and friends not for profit

cool. i like the name.

i have a couple questions, i am running my shocks on the inside of my links other wise the tires hit them in a sharp turn. the shocks will touch the upper links at peak articulation other than that the seem to be fine. is there any other issue i should be looking for? the shocks are crap and i want to replace them asafa (as soon as funds allow).

the second issue is that the rear bent links tend to flop over just a bit so the angle isn't straight and cause a slight bind and not allow it to articulate as quick or as much as it should. is it just my link ends (traxxas) or some other issue. how it's working now i will probably opt for straight links in the rear.
