Default Run Times

I'm thinking about buying a Losi Night Crawler, but I'm not sure which batteries to use and I have a few simple questions.

1. Will a Lipo and a Nimh stick pack with the same mah yeild the same run times?
2. For the NC, what size Lipo (mah rating) should I be considering?

I don't plan to comp with it, and I don't need the best, I just want something I can take out and use without having to charge the battery every 10 minutes.

In theory a lipo and nimh with the same mahs will give the same run times. In pratice, I think ya get alittle more with a lipo because the voltage doesn't drop as fast. Something around 1500mah should give about 30 min run time in a losi, would be my guess. Don't buy a nimh, Go lipo!

Thanks, the only reason I'm considering a nimh is I already have a few. But I thought about just using them to bash with till I got a Lipo and charger.

I just switched to a 2S 2800mAh lipo and run with guys running 6 cell 3300 mAh and am right with them...we trail run, so all of us are running at once..sometimes for 3-4 hours with no prob. 35T Axial scaler and a Mamba Max, soon to be a Rooster Crawler. You also get a little more Oomph with the lipo, even though they are .2 V more...Lipos run more effecient like oldhippie said, lipos drop off later, and they are lighter.

if you can lipo is the thing...but its a different charger..make sure it can charge lipos

I have a zippy 1500 mah 2s and i can easily get half hr+ out of it "driving around" and crawling on my 55T motor. It is amazing, ya, unless you had like a 250 mah lipoly I dont think 10 minute run times exist. Remember this, crawling drains a LOT less power than just driving around the yard with your car

I kept trying to figure it up in my head which would take more power, thanks for clearing that up
