Depends on the money, time, and plans you have for it. The kits are will be more expensive than the tr. You will have better parts. Search scx10 tr and there are alot of threads on these.

TR is ready to go.
Kits allow you to build from ground up and you will have a good understanding of how things work with your rig. Plus you will have more aluminum and a choice of better parts. Comes at a price.

ok im thinking about going with the kit because of better parts and im going to put all waterproof traxxas parts in it, its mostly going to be a trail rig
