Default Best crawler

Hey I'm new to the sport and I was wondering what is the best crawler for getting in to competition and best price. I was looking at the venom creeper but I was told that the axial ax10 is much better. If anyone could help me out that would be great!

Hello

Best and Good Price do not co-exist.

The venom and the AX10 are good crawlers. If you want to compete, go to a comp and look at what setups do well in your area.

My personal choice is a Berg with a Rockshow T1E Moonbuggy, Holmes Motors, RC-Innovations steering kit and Vanquish wheels.

X2 Neither the venom or axial are serious comp rigs without a lot of time and money shoveled into them and even then they are just marginal because they lack smooth dig engage and rear dig. If ya plan to comp go moa (berg, HR, bully).

Default Best crawler

I guess comp isn't what I'm really looking for then because I've never even heard of anything that was replied. I guess I just want a good crawler for a good price. I'm too picky for my own good I guess. I want a buggy that's ready to run but I heard the creeper wasn't as good as the ax10. The ax10 that's ready to run however didn't have the aluminum 4 link. I want a solid crawler for a good price. I don't want to pay 600 bucks I've got a baby on the way. The wife okayed me to spend about 450. Maybe that will help you experts narrow the search.

Forgive the crowd - R/C Crawling is full of power junkies and mad scientists. They mean well, and do give good advice on certain subjects BUT...
Since you said you're not yet into building your own or leaving only one original screw after "upgrading" take a look at the Redcat Racing RS-10. It is very functional and for a number of us it's been extremely reliable. It works right out of the box. It allows you to play with basic adjustments and not lose big $$ or your mind. I also own one of the "other" rigs mentioned above - it was expensive and discouraging for a long time. The RS10 wasn't. It's how I learned all manner of things. Mine is lightly modified now and I love it. I run it on tight twisty backyard tracks that I build out of whatever can be driven on. I can't put a rock pile on my back porch but I still want a challenge. For the price, the RS10 can not be beat. And, YES, if you get the horrible urge suddenly to "upgrade" you'll be surprised what's being done.
