Is the Night Crawler also called the Comp Crawler or is there not an area on this forum for it?

The Night Crawler comes ready to run with radio, receiver and a few downgraded parts (plastic links, no dig, etc.) while the Comp Crawler comes with no motor, electronics, or pinion gear. You have to select and provide those yourself. Here on RCC the Night Crawler information is lumped in with the Comp Crawler.

as you say it's for a kid, i think he will not comp with it, you are looking for a budget RTR with everything? my choice would be a Losi Mini Rock Crawler, because - it's cheap, - it's small and light for a kid, and he can bring it everywhere he wants in a bag, - he can even play a bit in the house or in the garden, - when you buy it, you have the charger, the radio and the battery, nothing else to buy. - if he wants to make comp, it's possible too and it can be upgraded. |

Leaving for Afganastan ( again) shortly. Need a fast poll from the experts here. Need a RTR Crawler will go 300ish bucks. Torn between: Ax10 ,nightcrawler and this unknown cant find ONE review mk42 RTR Mk42 **looks** the most legit ***Shame that new Xr10 is not RTR yet ! It will be used on rocks and such between 20-30 guys that also have crawlers.Just for fun, lose rule contests.Nobody has a 1000+ rig or anything close. Many have Ax10, losi NC,1 hpi , 1 bully rtr and 2-3 smaller name MFGs.No one has over 400 in a truck really. Not 1 even has a DIG. I can get ax10 from tower with 60 buck cupon !Sadly Losi NC is not sold at tower grrrrr. ( who has best losi NC price these days?) As for this new Mk42 I cant find 1 Youtube, 1 real review or any chat at all really about it.MY locl HS never even heard of it. Thanks much in Advance E-7 Gny Sgt Scout Sniper FASTCAR Semper Fi **Any shop that gives cupon or discount for military is a plus. |

I have a mk42 I like it. Ill be able to post more after I run it @ Brian's hobbyland on the 10th. But so far it is a solid rig. If you get it make sure before you run it to loc-tite all the metal to metal contact. This is a must!

To me I think so. The only things that Ive had a problem with is the servo arm came in broke I replaced it with a metal one from my lhs I had planed on doing that anyways and one of the plastic rod ends broke they included a bag full of hardware with extra rod ends in it so i replaced it with one of those. But like Ive said who ever gets one needs to loc-tite everything right down to the set screws on the motor pinions. Because if you dont it will come apart on you Same as the bully RTR. I am happy with the way it crawls but still doing some tuning.

Don't forget about the Axial SCX10! Although not a comp crawler it crawls surprisingly well, and also has enough speed to keep the kids interested. Plus taking it up and down the local foot trails is a total blast!
