| servo saver
I have a cr-01. When I installed high torque servos, it started stripping out servo savers. Whats the solution? |

Don't use servo savers in a crawler. Simple. They are great for "go-fasts" where you have high shock loads, the SS helps save servo gears. I recommend a decent aluminum clamping servo arm. I use a GHracing (AKA Golden Horizons racing) clamping servo arm. It's fairly cheap & works well. A slightly better alternative (but costs more) is a clamping servo arm from Robitronics. Thanks, but what keeps 180 degree servo from being damaged when the steering only makes a 90 degree arc?

I'd suggest you do a title search on epa. If you don't know what a title search is, ask here, because it's very powerful. You'll use it a lot.

Or, use a link mounting hole closer to the servo (on the servo arm). Quote:
[spoonfeed] EPA = "End Point Adjustment" which is in a lot of radios. It's a setting in the TX. It electrically limits the signal to the servo (or whatever is on that channel you used EPA on). [/spoonfeed] Some reading for you....RC Crawler Glossary of Terms

As you already know, I am new to RC and electronically challenged. How do I know which servo horn to buy and where. I guess I need to know my radio better. Thanks for your help. |

What radio are you using? There should either be a dial, or something in the settings that will limit throw. Some rtr systems do not offer this option however, so you may have to upgrade if you don't have it. |

My post earlier gives 2 brand names to look for. I believe Tower Hobbies has the GHracing servo arms. You need to match the spline count to your servo.

You could also check out CKRC they sell aluminum horns that are pretty hard to strip.
