Default hb rover????

i am a newbie at least for crawlers.
i picked up a set of hb rover's for my venom today.
i put them on the rims and the foam does not fill the whole tire
so they have these dish's in the tire unlike i think they should
look like . i would think they should be round uniform like a real tire.
is this right? do you have to buy a different foam?
even though they come with a foam, it does not seem to be big
enough in diameter to fill the inside of the tire.

The stock rover foams are to small for them. I've heard/seen some people use them anyway. I tried them for a while and they seemed to wrok fine but I wanted some more ground clearence and better shape. Most people like to use Nova foams, by the sound of it they are where it's at. Someone here said they just added a strip to the stock ones. I'm poor so that is what I did. I glued a 1.25" or so wide piece down the middle using a little 3M High Strength 90. I'm sure they are no Nova's, but they are taller now, have a nice curve to the face and still grip like crazy. This setup is also WAY better than my stock Hammers. I might add that 7oz of weight in each front tire, 4oz in each rear tire, and vented wheels helped alot. If you search, you can find tons of threads with different opinions about all this. Hope this helps!!

That's perfect!! I was wondering the same thing. I got a set of Rovers in the mail last week too and noticed how small the foam was. My rims aren't here yet but I just knew the foams wouldn't cut it. Thanks for posting the question and thanks for all the answers
