Default First crawler

A few days ago i was pointed in the direction of an off brand crawler to start out with because i dont want to spend very much and i dont really know if i will like it yet. They told me that this would be a great crawler to start with becuase it is a 2.2 comp crawler for $130 what do you guys that spend alot of time around crawlers think.

If you are wanting to buy something inexpensive to see if you like crawling, look around on this site. If it isn't talked about on here much (or at all) it will likely be a truck that will give you a bad first impression of crawling.

Looking at what you posted...
The servo looks very inadequate
I didn't notice that it mentioned if the axles were locked
I have never seen those tires on anything

Length: 450mm (17.71 inch)
Width: 258mm (10.16 inch)
Height: 320mm (12.60 inch)
Wheelbase: 200mm (7.87 inch)
Wheel Width: 56mm
Wheel Diameter: 126mm
Steering Angel: 40-50 degree
Maximum Toque Angel: 90 degree
Engine: RC540 motor
Weight 2100g
Battery: 7.2V 2000mAH Ni-MH

It looks like maybe they got the height and wheelbase measurements mixed up.

I would look farther.

I really don't want to save up for it because id rather just put money into my emuggy that I built. I also have been looking at crawler for a long time and I think the only other 1 besides this would be a venom creeper but then id still have to spend a lot on electronics. So I don't really know if it would be smart to spend the money on something that is the opposite of what I have been doing.

I was told that the only thing with it I should be worried about it the gears stripping but I went through and found that it has all metal gears atleast in the axles but I'm still not sure about it being off brand and I'm kind of wondering what it would cost for bufget electronics for a creeper if someone could help with that it would help a lot.o dpnt need a new radio at this time for crawling because I have a 3ch and just need another reciever so the radio is already accounted for.

I ment id much rather have a venom creeper then an exceed maxstone. What electronics would I be able to get for under 100 excluding a radio and reciever.

I get about 30 an hour when I work but most of the time itsin the summer but wim willing to put up to 250 into a crawler so I think the creeper will do good if I can get electronics.

I dont know it might not be bad if you wanted a cheap start for a scale build. The axles and trans dont look too bad, if that was all you were going to use for a scale rig.

I don't want to do a scale rig becuase in the future I might want to get into comps so thats why im starting to lean towards the creeper but i need to find out how much electronics cost but I don't know what is affordable to run.
