| what lipos do you recomend
I am checking out hobbyking and dont think I can pass on those great prices. Rig #1 I have a Axial scx with a 55 turn in right now and soon to transplant a 35 turn. I am using a xl5 in it and I know that no cutoff will work w/ it so I willl be using a lipo alarm. I am leaning towards the Zippy 1800mha 40c pack for a whopping 12.96. Would that be suitable for the rig above? What kind of run time should I expect? Rig #2 is a ax10 with a 55 turn novak and novak crawler esc. I am running a 7 cell 2/3a nimh pack in it now and like the extra wheel speed of the 7th cell. I have a thunderpower 2s 1320 13c/20c and it doest have the speed I like. If I use a Rhino 1050mha 40c cont. will this give it close to the same speed as the 7 cell nimh? I am running the battery on the front axle. Would it be a good choice and again what kind of time should I expect? |

But the shipping is fast and the batteries are good for the price. I got several of the 11.1v 1000mah lipos from them. $12.99 ea. Valuehobby has several other lipo packs too | |

if you are runnin an XL-5 don't use a 11.1 v 3s lipo, because the XL-5 limit is only 9.6 v nimh you have the magic smoke appear on you if you use a 3s lipo, on the other hand if you use an ESC that's capable of 3s or more, then i would suggest going to a 3s lipo on a 35t motor, this seems to be the perfect match lot's of wheelspeed and torque. |

In my scaler I am using zippies. A Flightmax 1800 and 2 x 2200's (2s). I have the same set-up: xl-5, 35turn. I get 1/2 hour out of the batteries (a little under for the 1800. Good cheap batteries, and they are small. I am not comping though, just having fun in the woods and in the mud. Hell, I am using zippies in my brushless mbx6T truggy (which I am racing club level)! They way out perform maxamps and the smc's I paid 4 times as much. Who cares where the lipos are made, for $9 for a 2200... Zippy Flightmax = Great Battery. Just for the record, I have owned: Max Amps, SMC, and TrueRC, Hyperion G3s, and Flightmax. All great batteries, except really MA... I guess it depends on your budget. |

| On my scaler 2s 20C. If you just want to goof around in the trails, 20C is more than enough, your esc motor combo isn't going to pull the kind of amps anyway associated with higher c rated lipos. On my trugg, 35C. Now because of the more draw from my Tekin RX8 (than my scaler's XL5), you need a higher rated lipo to keep things cool. Hope this helps. Ted |

i just got my blue lipos today from hobbypartz.com. I paid $35 and some change for 6 2 cell lipos for my mini. I just put them in about 5 min ago and they are awesome. I paid 4-5 bucks a piece for them and the shipping was 4.95. Can't beat that and they are located in California and yes the batteries are made in China. I got the l000 size and they are identical to the losi 1000 2 cells that I have that I think sell for around $50 bucks.
