Default what motor for 3s batteries?

i currently use a novak rooster crawler and 55t motor. i will prob be replacing my esc with the novak 3s crawler, and start moving towards 3s batteries.
i know the 3s esc will work for brushed or brushless motors - will my motor be capable of running the 3s batts?

what would be a good motor to run with the 3s batts? i would like to remain brushed.

thanks

sweet, thanks

so, as i am 2s now anyways (and will be for a bit, untill i get that other esc then batteries), i feel i need more wheelspeed now... would a 45t or even a 35t give me that much more that i'm looking for, without sacraficing too much torque?

also, would any of these bee too low turn when i do switch to 3s in near future?

I like the 35t's...they are a pretty good compromise between torque and speed. Like JRH says...gear down and volt up!

I would either make one change at a time or go with a proven setup somebody else already runs as a good basis. I would keep an eye on motor temp if switching to 35t motor, changing gearing plus moving to 3s. My buddy smoked his from not checking it after doing alot of changes. Good luck with it. T

Most every "Crawler type" motors are 3s capable. Just not NOVAK brushed crawler motors, BEWARE!!! They are only rated for 2s and they mean it. My buddy smoked one in 2secs on 3s.

Novak motors run fine on 3s and 4s. The Novak ESC is what won't handle it for too long.

This is not true according to their specs. In my one time expierence it fried right away on 3s. But it very well could have been a unique circumstance.

As others have said the Novak Rooster Crawler ESC is for 2s and you wil most likely fry it if you run a 3s on it.

i do know that much. i won't be hooking up a 3s batt to this esc. the thread is for me asking what motor for a 3s batt...

i'm just wondering what a good capable motor is for when the time comes that i switch over - so i can keep an eye out for deals.

i'm curious as to a good 3s capable brushed 35t motor, unless i decide to go brushless...

I just found this! Holmes has a sale on some motors. (not sure if you can see the forsale section) http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/showthread.php?t=238666

If not go here to his websight: http://holmeshobbies.com/home.php?cat=6

Id order this motor: TorqueMaster Pro Handwound (Epic) SKU: HH-HHH350 (you best get one quick like today, they'll be gone for sure!!!!)
This motor is BAD to the BONE on 3s!!!

If you wanting to sale a few buck the Integy V11's are good too.
