where do i start?

i used to have a ae gt2, but never really used it so i sold it. now i'm thinking about getting into scale more than crawling. where do i start? whats the difference between 1.9 and 2.2? point me in the right direction please.

You start at the beginning. The difference between 2.2 and 1.9 is 0.3.

Seriously, what are you wanting to build? Have you found something that looks like what you'd want.

Perfect starting point:

i know the mathametica difference. i know i don't want a "crawler" something more like an sxc10 trail rig. i want to add a nissan titan body to it though. is the only difference between the scales the tire size?

i wouldn't mind something that involves some assembly, so maybe a kti would work for me? i guess i should start out simple and improve from there? i don't know much about rc but a guy here at work knows a ton about it.

That sounds like a perfect starting point. You should not have any troubles mounting a new body to that kit.

Scale trucks tend to look more like what you'd find out on a 1:1 trail run.....

BTW, I was just joking about the 0.3 in my first post."thumbsup"

ya i knew you were just joking.

what about the scale size deal? can you jut put 2.2's on a 1.9 rig?

With enough work you can do anything :lmao:

I'm new to the crawler thing myself, but let me see if my knowledge is actually growing. I would guess that 2.2 may not fit on a 1.9 hub/whatever the wheel mounts into. I know my buddies 2.2 wheels won't go onto my T-maxx based crawler cause of that issue so I am only assuming that it would be the same case going the other direction in scale

A 2.2 wheel will fit on a 1.9 rig if the hex size is the same (12mm), which I believe they are on the Axials as they share the same axles.

Your TMaxx most likely has 14mm hexes, thats why it won't fit. "thumbsup"

Pretty much.

There are other differences, but they are entirely dependant on the model when it comes to scalers.

tbeaton 03-20-2010 11:17 PM

okay simple enough.
