Just about finished my first build.....advice?

As the title says I'm about done. I've purchased and built an SCX10 kit (CF100 body painted metallic blue/black and beadlock rings painted black), and have ordered from RC4WD their Outcry ESC, Mayhem servo, and 35t silver can. I just got word today that my parts have shipped from RC4WD... So next I'm thinking of picking up a Traxxas TQ3 radio/rx off ebay $20-$30.... from what I've read that's the best "bang for your buck" radio for me to get going with. I'm on a pretty tight budget and I noticed CKRC has a Venom VR3T fm radio/rx for like $37.... is this Venom better or worth the extra few bucks over the Traxxas radio? I've tried searching about that Venom radio but can't seem to find any info on it good or bad..
