Default Best Servo For Crawler

Hey guys, I recently bought an scx10 kit and have some extra futaba steering servos from a buggy. I don't know if they have enough torque and wanted some of your input. Also, since I doubt they have the torque, I was also wondering what the best steering servo would be for my kit that wasn't extremely espensive, thanks.

I would stay away from weaker servos like the 645. You'll find your just wasting your money buying new ones when they burn out or break. The JR 8711, (I can't personally recommend it) but I would say it sounds like a very good buy. I can personally recommend the HS 7954 SH, lots of torque, at 6.0V 333oz/in at 7.4V 402oz/in. Steel gears, and Low price tag! I love mine!

Been running my 645mg for a while now and have easily got my monnies worth out of it. But I have heard people having trouble sometimes with them. I guess I have been lucky. I will get a 7955TG high torque titanium gear servo when my 645mg dies.

Wow that JR servo is bad as hell. But $205, I'll pass and get the 7955TG for $65 which will more than enough.

well, i just bought and installed a hobbico cs-170 in my ax-10. super happy with it, lots of torque, no problem turning my tires, even at the craziest angles. im a newbie too, and that seemed to be a great upgrade from the stock one i had/ broke. output torque is 250 @4V and 333 @ 6 V

cost me 100 bux

7950TG Run directly to the CCBEC and crank your BEC settings to 7.4v to get the 486 in/oz. It may be able to handle 8.4v (fully charged 7.4v) should put that badboy over 500in/oz. on a fresh pack. Get a Robotronic servo horn for sure!

Money is always a limit for me... so when I was looking for the best bang for the buck I found the Airtronics 94851. It's pushing 192 oz, .19 sec. all at 6V. This servo was $44.99 at Pegasus Hobbies in Monclair, Ca. See them on some sites as low as $38.99. Not bad of a package considering its digital, ball bearing, and metal gear. A tad slow, but haven't needed the speed.

X3 this wasn't my first choice but that was a mistake and we learn the expensive way in crawling. This is one awesome servo worth every penny IMO.
