I bought a Losi Night Crawler. Probably the best out of the box crawler you can buy plus it's RTR just need battery and charger. Crawl it stock then add mods as needed.

Shop around, seen a few guys say they got theirs for less than $300 shipped.

Really depends on what you're lookin for. Scaler or comp-style, shafty or MOA, etc... Another option for inexpensive, but good rigs is to buy a star here for 20 bucks and browse the classifieds for a used rig. What's your budget?

I'm going to say get a an AX10. Tons of aftermaket parts. Seen them on ebay for $250 shipped. Like untchabl said ,the Losi is the most capable out of the box. Just my opinion.

AX-10 all the way for cheap and tons of parts.

DO NOT get the Losi! Way too many issues for a Newbie.

Those issues were all last year when it was first released. The bugs have since been worked out.

i didn't realize they went through the week point on the LNC... do you have a link or something explaining what they "improved".

My buddy bought his from the hobby shop about a month ago from our local hob shop. Not sure which one he has but my personal experience has been very bad with LNC's (run stock).
