You'll be fine.

Crawlers don't draw much at all.

I run a Thunder Power 910mah 15c reciever power pack in my TLT comp truck works great. I think that pack only has 20 guage wire (small) on it like this Venom pack.

If this is correct it wont deliver enough power for anything much bigger than a micro... at best a MRC.

I didn't catch that. I find that hard to believe only 1.5A cont!! AA's discharge more than that.

It's free, run it!

Same here, never heard about a lipo that only delivers 0.5C. The low rating could be because of the thin power wire and servo plug? If so the lipo could work fine if they where replaced by beefier stuff

I was thinking the same thing...just thought I'd see what the pro's had to say.

Quick sub-question though...when I switch the plug over to deans and finally run this in the crawler...will it be damaged by attempting to pull more out of it than it was designed to deliver? Or will it not hurt the battery, and simply not deliver much performance?

You'll have to excuse me...I'm an electricity newbie...but I'm starting in the fall on my route to an electronics technician job...so hopefully I won't be dumb for long

Just run it for a few minutes and check to see if it gets hot. If it gets hot it means that your esc is taking too much out of it and the lipo could be in danger of getting damaged. If it runs cool (or even warm'ish) you should be ok but keep an eye on the temp until you know if it works.

Let us know how it performs

That battery's not even strong enough to power a servo, much less a motor. Expect it to overdraw and hit LVC as soon as you pull the throttle, if you don't have a cutoff expect fire as soon as the throttle is pulled.

This is correct in Indiana Mud's statement, but I don't believe that that pack is only 0.5c that doesn't make since... I don't know.

I guess the proof is in the pudding Just go easy on the throttle until you get a feeling for the packs performance. If the C rating is correct your crawler should just creep along and the pack should get warm pretty fast.

Be sure to record the first attempt on video and please do it outside (just in case)

I guess if the crawler goes up in flames you will at least have a cool video

Well, I swapped the plug out for a Deans...and balance charged it up for the first time. I haven't run the truck on it yet (yes, a little gun shy) but I have used the battery to supply power for my lighting project that I'm trying to get nailed down in the scaler.

Maybe this weekend I'll burn this baby down

Update: We got this truck out on the dirt hills today...and no problems whatsoever with the battery.

At first I checked the temp every few minutes during the initial easy cruising, and as time went on I drove it longer and longer without checking the temp.

After all is said and done, we drove it slow, fast, short bursts and long bursts down the driveway, and the battery stayed perfectly cool.

i have not EVER heard of .5 c
i have been looking at lipo's lately real seriously to get some for my
electric truck's (especially my crawler) . 15c is as low as i have seen !!
i know thats what the info say's though . that seem's EXTREEMLY low for lipo!
thats the whole reason for lipo, more power, more amperage, more run time,
less weight.
