| Losi Night Crawler question
So I know very little about anything RC but I been doing a lot of researching on here and I just picked up a LNC. It already has a Lipo battery and a upgraded steering servo. I would like to have a little more wheel speed and I have read that some people have changed the pinion gear and others the engine to a lower turn motor ( correct me if I'm wrong please, Lower turn motor = more speed less torque and vice versa) It already has a 20t pinion gear and I haven't seen one larger than that at CKRC or any other sites I've been to so if anyone could give me some advice and teach me a thing or to I would appreciate it. Also how do I know what pitch gear I need? What all should I consider in switching motors? And could someone please explain all the different batteries and what all the different numbers really mean? Sorry if this is to much I just feel clueless about a lot of this stuff. Thanks |

What LiPo does it have? How many cells? One? Two? Three? Increasing the number of battery cells will increase the voltage and give you more wheel speed. A quick rundown of what you have will help others with suggestions. |

I think it's a 2 cell this is what it says: 7.4 V 1650 mAh 2s 30c Everything else I have is stock except the steering servo was supposedly upgraded, although it doesn't seem that strong to me now. Its a Jr racing Z 590m. Thanks It seems to me that if I put a smaller pinion gear on it would increase the top speed and give me what I want. I'm not sure how to decide what pitch gear I need though. |

smaller pinion=less wheel speed more lowend bigger pinion=more wheel speed and top end. you could put a traxxas e-maxx motor in it and have more speed or if your esc will handle a 3cell li-po go for that. i have been told on the losi be very careful when gearing up (bigger pinion) it will heat the motor up quicker. that is wht alot of people run the brushless set-ups |
