Default Crawler King vs. SCX10 TR vs Losi MRC

Okay...new to crawlers and I am tempted to dive in and buy an SCX10 kit and order a Tamiya Tundra body and get all crazy but think I better start off slow. So my idea is to buy an RTR, either the Crawler King, one of the SCX10 TRs, or the Losi MRC. I would use it for multiple purposes:
  1. Intro to crawling
  2. Trail/basher rig
  3. Intro to RC for my 3 and 2 yr old sons, (so it will take abuse)
  4. Maybe mod it for scale and performance

Eventually I would probably by an SCX10 Honcho Kit or similar for a hardcore scale rig, but want to get something now that I can run right away and will meet the above requirements. So what is everyone's thoughts? Which would better fill my needs? Thanks!

**Update**
Interesting. I figured there would be more votes for the Axial but unanimous so far!? Let me throw this out there. Due to the Crawler King's 2.2 tires would it be easier to crawl and/or easier for my little boys to drive/run into stuff? The CK is also probably $50+ cheaper but that is not much of a concern. Keep the thoughts coming!

**UpdateTwo**
After doing further research I have added the Losi MRC to the list. Seems like a cool rig, possibly cheaper to hop-up, and still capable. Whaddya all think?

Everyone is going to say axial here, and for good reasons. I would say go down to your local hobby shop and give them both a good look over. See if you can run them as well. It is hard to make a decision from just pictures.

Having had a few of each, I would definatly suggest the scx10, it is a far more capable rig. Plus IMO it is a better looking scale chassis. Go with the SCX you will NOT regret it

I'm in the same position I don't know whether to buy a crawler king or scx10 tr but I think I might go with everyone else and get a scx10. But the there's another decision I need to make, cheaper dingo tr or the more expensive honcho tr which are less easy to get hold of in the u.k.

ckrccrawlers.com is the cheapest ive seen the scx10 run. its only 204$ for the kit, and 239$ for the TR. IMO i like the kit better because you can get better quality electronics. TCScrawlers is good too. i bought mine from there, and they had a deal where they threw in a free complete dingo body, but it just didnt come w/ the led bumpers.
