Default good motor to use???

just wanting to know what a good motor to use with good wheel speed with torque also going to be ran in a scaler maybe around 8 pounds give or take with a holmes torque master and a 3s lipo battery , and money aint just on my side ethier but open to anything... just need a good all around motor... will be trail riding mudding for sure thick mud lotta hill climbing just for references...

they are very well made motors, and on the plus side if u dont mind waiting u can order any wind you want your not limeted to what other manufacturers decide they want to make

Any min torque rating thresholds that should be met - any rules of thumb related to weight of crawler : min torque.

nope no rule of thumb here, but more is better. Any good hand wound will always be better then a cheap machine wound. higher turns = lower speed and more torque, but like i said a good motor is better then a cheapo, a 35t HH/tekin/warrior hand wound will have more speed and torque then say an integy 55t at the same voltage input. some guys swear by the cheap lathe motors, some guys sweat by the $$ motors. but there is a fine line, drop to far in turn count and there will be way to much speed and no low end controll and that point u no longer have a crawler

personally i wont run any thing higher t count then a 35. iv been spoild with nice motors and high voltage
