ok from what i have read(as im also building a scale like crawler from a tlt) the max climber had slightly beefier axles and shaved drive cups to allow for the axle size, however i read that the tlts being made and that are out now have these upgraded axles, also the chassis plates are black on the climber(i read carbon fiber somehwere but im not sure, i went for the rockbuster)and finally the max climber takes a standard pack instead of the tamiya delta pack...so as far as building a crawler go with the rockbuster, it is 60 dollars cheaper, and the battey will need to be moved for proper climbing anyway, and if the chassis is carbonf fiber for 60 bucks ill take the metal ones...I am also putting a locked pede trans in it and locking the front and rear diffs of course...i am also building mine for non-comp crawling which means rear wheel steering(woohoo)...

Yeah, that is the only difference in the two now is that the max climber has black plates, red rims, and a different body. The plates are not carbon fiber, and since yours is gettin the scale treatment, the battery thing isnt an issue since you wont be building it like the stock facotry truck. And the newer rockbusters have the beefeir axles and shaved drive cups, so your all good to go. Good luck with it.
