Default Reccomendations for ESC & Battery Combo with Warrior 35t r/t on AX10?

What would be the best budget esc for the Warrior 35t r/t motor? Tekin, Castle, Sidewinder? And which would be the baddest one out their period. lol any info is helpful plus whichever battery setup and gear you're running. If you already have a good setup on any type crawler not just axial ax10 with this warrior motor let me know. Videos on youtube would be sweet comparing stock setups to warrior (35t)

thanks

Sidewinder is probably the cheapest I would use and would work great, HH Torquemaster BR-XL would be the baddest, followed by the MMP. Tekin would fall in the middle but is the smallest size wise. I'd avoid Novak

For batteries I'm really impressed with the Thunder Power 850 3s 45C/90C, they're tiny and fit great on the front axle of an AX-10, yet still provide great punch.

For gearing I run the stock spur and a 13t pinion, which is about as low as you can go without grinding the motor mount or getting a bigger spur, a 12t might work. I'm thinking about switching from a Tekin 45t to a handwound 35t with a bigger spur and smaller pinion for more punch.

The sidewinder is a good low cost esc (really all ya need in a crawler) with good tunabily (with the castle link) and will handle 3s. The advantage of the HH is it will handle 6s! (which will really wake up a crawler!) and better bec (ya may get by without an external bec). The tekin is a great esc (small size, easy programing, great drag brake, handles 3s, and to me seems to have more punch). Any would work fine (ya will need a bec for the sidewinder or tekin) but I'd go with the HH in an axial with the 35t just to go to 4+s for better low end plus crazy wheelspeed!

don't forget the outcry ESC from RC4WD, it has a decent BEC with it. only downside is that there is no lipo shut-off...

Which means DO NOT get that one.

Really what the heck were the thinking, no lipo cut-off!!! They event say it's 4s capable which is bad intructions, IMO.

OutCry Speed Controller Specs:

Motor Limit: Dual 540
Input Voltage: 4-12 NiCd/NiMH cells (1.2V per cell) or 4S LiPo cell
Weight: 49g / 1.72 oz
Size: 35mm/1.37inch x 33mm/1.29inch x 30mm/1.18inch
Advanced 6V/5A Turbo BEC
BEC input 5V-23V, 2S-4S Lipo
Rated current: 300A forward, 150A reverse
Motor limit: Anything more than 20+ turn brushed
Discrete Steps: 128 Forward, 128 Reverse
Connectors: Futaba J, Standard for Battery, Bullet Motor (all pre-installed)
Status LEDs: 1
Delay in reverse: No
Drag break: Yes
No Lipo Cutoff

I have a TLT, w/ R2D tranny, Warrior 35t, 13t pinion, on 3s. And I love the wheelspeed it could always be faster but i'm happy with it.

While the outcry is a good budget option and ya can always add a lipo alarm/cutoff, it wasn't one of the choices and since he was going with a handwound I thought he was looking something upscale of the outcry.
And X2 on the Thunder Power 850 3s 45C/90C.

By time you buy the external Lipo cut-off you could have a Mamba Monster Max!

Come on. Really? Worst case is a $25 Novak unit, or $4 for this:

And a MMM is what $150+?

Ok sounds great I'll probly go with the sidewinder then because I'm currently running a 6 cell nimh pack on the front axle til I get a truck and it paid off. How many cells would be safe maximum for the sidewinder brushless esc with the 35t motor running either a 14t or 20t lol i make the packs so I can make any configuration. Is 8 cell (9.6v) too much juice for the motor to be run reliable? Thanks
