Newbie (semi) AX10 rebuild

3 Attachment(s)
I have had my AX10 for about 8 months and other than assemble the kit when it arrived I have done very little in the way of tinkering. I have done the following
  • shocks to some shorter shocks to lower the ride height (December)
  • Axial Red Alloy pack to replace the Green (April)
  • second body to bash and crash with as I learnt to drive (November)
  • Axial straight rear axle and lock outs (April)
  • Axial Heavy Duty rear bevel (April)
  • Axial HD Diff Lock rear (April)
Tonight I have disassembled the ax-10 and I am going to rebuild it and upgrade it. This project will take a while as anything I need to buy in most cases has to come from the USA so shipping is 8-10 days.

To start my upgrades I have just received my Underground FF-4 Chassis (Very nice product, well packaged, and excellent workmanship. I am excited about this chassis as I have seen some awesome crawlers on here.

I hope that by posting this build I can get some suggestions from more experienced builders on areas to improve my build as I go and what kit I should get when I come to stumbling blocks........ (opportunity to help a noob.....)

On order and due any day I have
  • Axial Bender custom 4 link plate
  • Axial Aluminium C's hub carriers
  • Axial Universal shafts for the front
  • Axial Heavy Duty Overdrive Bevel for the front
When these parts arrive I will rebuild the front axle assemble and install the other HD locker at the same time

Not much I can do until these parts arrive and even then I am limited in assembly as I dont have any other parts other than my transmission and some electrics (Novak Rooster ESC, Novak 55T Motor, Hitec 7955 Servo)

Still need to get
  • knuckles (thinking VP Zero ackerman High Clearance)
  • From Servo Plate (thinking VP From Servo/Battery plate)
  • Dig (has to be VP from all my research)
  • Shocks (Thinking Proline Powerstroke Scale shocks with VP Razors
  • Wheels (VP DH Comp with 585fr, 335Rr hubs & weights)
  • Tires (Sedonas Front, Rovers Rear)
  • Links (not sure yet)
  • Tx/Rx (something 3 channel)
Have I forgotten anything? Is this a good start? Any ideas on possible substitutions, additions, etc that I should consider?

I have included some photos of the FF-4 chassis, Axles so far, and transmission/electrics so far....
