ok yes this is my second thread, i did this about a year ago. but i went thru some a divorce and other bs. anyway im back and seriously ready to do this!!!! im thinkin scale. i wanna do the 1/25 scale honcho jeep truck. i already found and acquired the kit. soooo questions is it easier to buy an axial kit and make it fit?? or start from scratch? is that a 1.9 or a 2.2 or ????

1/25th scale? You need the Losi Micro Crawler....anything else will be WAY too big.

For a scale project I would choose the Axial scx=10 . Its a great performer and close scale . This rig is easy to build , if youre the handy kind . And its a great size for common bodies . If you want better scale , and can afford it , get the Honcho kit .

For a scale truck I would go with the SCX10 like said above, but if you want a sclae rig that looks more stock the Tamiya CC01 if a good place to start.

what about the actual remote?? the price difference between the two kits is only like 20 dollars. so i may buy the complete rtr kit then upgrade parts once i get a better understanding of how they work. then i already have extra parts for the next build.

The stock axial electronics are all but crap. You are better off to spend that $20 on some sort of a cheap upgrade, or put it toward useful electronics. Radios are pricey, but they make a HUGE difference for smoothness and control, as well as adjustability. I have the stock Axial electronics from my AX10 RTR, and I won't be using them for anything. I highly recommend a Spektrum DX3R. Then, if/when you do another build, you just add another receiver, and away you go. The DX3R has 10 model memory, and with 2.4ghz technology, you aren't going to get any interference from anyone else. The range is retarded too. You can drive it further than you can see it. Do some research, and I'm sure you'll come to the same decision I did about one.

i bought the full kit. with radio and all. i did this so i can learn how it works. trust me it wont stay stock long. but i have never seen or owned one. so ill start here and start upgrading soon. like probably by the end of next week. lol! but i wanna get it and really decide where i wanna take it then buy the right parts. right now im hunting the chevy eliminator body. anyone got any ideas?

Even though the electronics are not the greatest, I agree with buying the rtr, especially for someone that has nothing to start with and it only being a $20 difference. This way you'll be running right off the bat and you can see and start to understand how things work and upgrade them as you see fit. I know I wasted alot of money when I first started out because I had no idea what I needed and RTR's where not available then.

what battery guys??? id really like atleast an hour of playtime or longer if possible. really only wanna do it once and i want the charger that charges them all so no matter what i buy/build i can charge it.

Definitely go Lipo. More Mah = longer run times, but also = larger battery. This is where you will run into an issue with the RTR. You will want to go 3s(11.1v) Lipo, and I'm pretty sure, but not positive, that you can't run that high voltage with the RTR's electronics. When you upgrade to say a Tekin FXR, it will handle the 3s. The extra voltage is all sorts of kickass, compared to lower voltages.

It does every kind of battery, as well as balances your lipo while you charge. It is the identical charger to some that are much more money, but doesn't have the name brand painted on it.
