The only way to get beefier is for the outdrives to get bigger. With the RR gear there is no need to go beefier anyway.

Are the out drives in your kit steel or Alum.? I have built a few Axial kits and never seen steel out drives just Alum. which work very well also. I did use a RRP out drive in the last one I built.

Try thread lock on the set screw if you haven't already You can also add a second set screw if you still have any problems.

I have always ran two set screws and locktite. No problems with the driveshafts coming loose/outputs stripping. The problem is twisting off the stock alum outputs! Steel ones will solve that!

+2. I had issues as well, seemingly minutes before it would pop off again, and always at the least opportune time. I have since broken the stockers on my SCX, and upgraded to some MiP's.

A little red thread lock (which I can still get off later if I use heat), and I haven't had one come off since. It seemed like the blue wasn't cutting it with the stockers, and running 2 helped for a little bit, but in the end I think that the red is the key. And like I said, you can always use heat ( I. E. a soldering iron with all that plastic around it) to get it off later.
