Default I need some lond drive shafts for the emaxx tranny .

Hello all , I am trying to find a set of drive shafts for the emaxx tranny that will reach about 8'' . I have read about making them but would like to buy some instead . Does anyone know where I can find a set ? Any help is appreciated .

Nope. You can contact fastlane machine about making a custom set of dogbones to reah that far. Only other alternative is to make them, which is very simple.

Made my own, they are actually 'pede shafts, but they are coming out of an EMaxx tranny to Axial axels. 8 inches is a long ways, is that from the out-drives, or is that between the u-joints?

this is as close as you can get with the 6mm outputs:

you also could drill these out:

You should be able to make them using E-maxx shafts, here is a pic of mine...

It looks like I have no choice but to make my own . I like the way you made those so I will probably do the same thing . Thanks for the Idea .

why not use the older style emaxx axle shafts? You can get 5mm or 6mm yokes for the ends of them. I'm pretty sure you need the 6mm yokes for the tranny and the 5mm yokes can be drilled to fit (they have flats on the inside) axial axle pinion shafts. I'm using them on an axial based truck with a 13" wheelbase and I had to shorten them a little to work.

Can I order from Traxxas or some other place ? Looks like they will be strong enough . A friend recommended mating some Bandit half shafts (which I already have ) but these look stronger . How much do they cost ?

Why not run Jato shafts?
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXKMG2&P=7

They are much stronger than Pede/Maxx shafts. I cant remember what the ID of the joint is....but I have a buddy who used to run them on his axial. They are easy enough to cut and glue together. I like to use CA glue and a set of PVC cutters...

Default Don't hate me for saying it but...Ebay

I had purchased a full set for an Emaxx and the guy I bought it from sent me the yokes, pivots, spur gear as well for dirt cheap can't remember how much 'cause it was over a year or two back. I also bought a set of traxxas stampede shafts at the same time for a WK custom tuber,... they're still in the bag. You won't be dissapointed with the sturdy EMAXX shafts, yokes as they bolt directly on & are easy to cut to length with a dremel tool or even a sharp carpet knife will work! I would post a pic but alas I'm a newbie and I'm not posting from my home PC.
