tire ? how do i unmount glued tires as in what is the best way?? |
I hope youre up for a challenge because your gonna work your ars off . First scrub the edge with a tooth brush hot water and soap while gently pulling the tire back from the rim . This will help soften the bite . Next you will have to firmly push against the edge with your thumbs untill you can break the bead . Be very careful because its easy to tear the tire . After you break the bead in a spot you then can slowly pull the tire while scrubing some more . It helps to soak the tire but this can make a mess of your foams depending on what type you have . Hot water helps but it also softens the tires a little until they cool down so be patient and careful . The next step is to buy Bead locks so you never have to do this again . "thumbsup" |
ive heard but havent tried (yet) boiling the tires in water for a bit, like 20 or 40 minutes works... |
You can also put them in the oven for a short time like five to ten mins. on like 450 degrees, it helps to soften the ca glue. I have tryed it with success, but then i got beadlocks and never had to do it again . |
Be careful heating them up...you don't want to cook them. |
Get some acetone (finger nail polish remover) and some q-tips. Work the q-tip around the bead liberally applying the acetone. The acetone will break up the bond and make your tires smell like the local nail salon in the process. When you have the tires off, use the acetone to clean the residual ca off. |

Thats how I've always done it. Boil each tire 10 minutes, flip, then another 10. Once they've been removed from the water and have cooled down, the tire should come off of the bead fairly easily. This will not hurt the tires or the wheels, but may damage memory foam if that is what is inside. If its just regular foam, it can be dried by folding it up inside a towel and pressing down on them. |
X2 on finger nail polish remover |
Man these are much easier methods than mine . Where were you guys before I lost the cuticles on my thumbs !?! |
turn the oven on too 500 degrees. Wrap the tires in tin foil. SOON as the oven warms up turn it off and stick the tires in. leave em in there for an hour or two then take em out and peel the tires off |

5$ @ lhs I bought some debonder at the LHS for 5 bucks, worked like a hot damn. Product name is UN-CURE, and its CA remover. It saved the tires and the wheels, it did take the shine off of the plastic chrome. I give it 5*'s |
