I was wondering, Do I need a blue star if I wanna trade for parts or only if i get money?

Blue stars are for vendors they allow you to promote your products, If all you want to do is trade, and sell used stuff then get a green or gold star. I'd reccomend getting the gold one, Support this site it rocks.
