You will not get any glitching from the 2.4 systems. If you like your radio, buy the spektrum module for it. 2.4 and nice cheap receivers.

NO ! In my eyes the only advantage to 2.4 ghz is the non existing risk of 2 ppl using the same channel at once, in the years i have been a mechanic for my friend i have allways "disliked" the mess around ferquencies in use at a race. It could allso just be me thats a lazy bastard that just wana turn on radio and then turn on car and then go have fun. If your radio is in working condition and have the features you need, i see other things you could spend mony on first if finances are a little tight. |

The no antenna sticking out thing is cool . Other than that , unless you get a really good 2.4 , the FM is better IMO . 2.4 tends to have a slight delay . Its not a big deal with crawlers but sucks with faster rigs . The upper level 2.4s dont show this lag much , but I still like FM better .

I got tired of the glitching that Fm gave me. It seemed to get worse on the rocks for some reason. Signal bouncing around? I haven't had one issue since I switched to a Spektrum DX3R.

2.4ghz is really nice but not necessary. For me I went to a DX3.0 because I was tired of all the controllers and no model memory of my old radios. But if you have your setup and it works good for you then keep with it. A lot more people are switching to 2.4 so when crawling there is a very small chance you'll get a issue with channels. If you have the extra money and want no antenna out of your bodies then switch, if there is another upgrade you can do and you're happy with your radio and it works for you then keep it and think about it later. |
