Default Mesh Adj.

What is the proper way to adjust the mesh on the pinion to the gear on the clod axles?

Should be a little slop between gears.

If you can, just use a piece of paper between gears to set the mesh.

The paper method is a good one - You cut a strip of paper, and set the mesh tight with the paper pinched inbetween the gears, so it zig-zags between the teeth. Tighten down your motor mounts, and when you pull the paper out you will have a proper gear mesh, and a little zig-zagged peice of paper. But - I am not so sure you can do this on a stock Clod axle. Like EeePee said, you want just a tiny amount of slop. What you can do is sung up both screws a bit with the mesh tight. Then nudge one screw so it swings the motor back just a hair, and tighten them both down. Give the wheels a spin, and if it feels good, you are all set.
