Yes I belive 3/16 is used by most builders for bumpers, sliders, and roll cages. I have used it myself and it will hold up very good as long as it is built with enough supports and braces. The first couple of bumpers and sliders I built didnt have the correct bracing and didnt hold up to well. Some guys also use solid rod which holds up great. Take your time and have a good time.

oh and i picked up some 3/16 solid rod for the stinger and i compared it to the roll cage on the cgr and its alittle small so 1/4in might be a better size.

i use 3/16 rod and some 1/8 for little braces on the stinger. also 1/4 works good for "push bar" bumpers imo

i usually heat it up and use a vice to bend it. nice and slow though, so you dont get any kinks.

The best way is to braze it together. And you need to fish tail the ends and use flux it won’t be strong or neat if you don’t to both of them.

You can buy a brake line binding tool from an auto parts store or online
