I myself wouldnt consider the dinky chassis is a knockoff of a mrc.

So do the mrc internals work in the axles and transmission?
If so then this truck would be great for a scale build if you needed to flip a axle.

If you are gonna comp these then I would clean up the bottom of the pumpkin. Those mounts are not needed and will only get in the way.

G-Dinky-3X sounds good.

The Dinky Chassis is just so cool looking. I had to make an attempt to copy the look. Mine does have some differences because I don't have a Dinky to copy. Plus I wanted to make it hold the battery opposite the motor and it needed a cross piece to mount against.

I was refering to the chassis. It's a knock off of the Dinky 1.9 comp chassis.

I was calling the EMS a knock off of the MRC. And my homemade chassis a knock off of the Dinky.

I hope to have it at comp level someday. But I'm also not very competitive and don't know if I'll ever really compete. Maybe club level someday. I just like to build and play. I will be grinding down the axles stubs. Like I said there is much to still clean up and tinker with. Before I'm done I will pull apart the chassis again and sand it. I will be making a "skid plate" that wraps around the battery and motor. All the exposed threaded rod needs to be sleeved also.

I was referring to his quote

I have built a knock off chassis. It would be a knock off of Dinky RC's Sport chassis but uses a lot of the GC3 chassis measurements. (Thanks MCRCRAWLER) I would have really liked to buy one but he doesn't have any available currently. I figured it was appropriate since the EMS is basically a knock off of the MRC.

I have lots to clean up on my build but I wanted to get it together and see how it worked. It is working well. I can't take it out side to try it because there is snow everywhere. As far as next mods there are to many to mention. I really am going to just try and play with it till it breaks and perform upgrade repairs as needed. I would like to to put in the Mongoose 1/18 Crawler Mini BL System in for the added power and speed. I'm sure that would help me break it really good too.

Oh and I did burn up my stock servo. Replaced it with a HS-645MG
looking good toyota. that chassis looks sharp. if you get to the dogbone mod before me (i've been cut off from ordering more parts. my better half saw the bid after i ordered my xr10!) be sure to keep us posted.

wondering what ever ones single best maxstone 16 up grade is?

Mine was removing every other tread on my tires and using my couch foam inside my tires.

i dont have a EMS 16, but on my MRC, it was definitely adding weights, and hot bodies rovers.

To narrow it down to a single mod is very hard. I would say pushing the front axles out into the cups to increase steering amount without breakage is the most useful mod I've made.
Honestly all the free mods I've done I would do in a heart beat again. They all have had positive results. So I pick all the free mods as my one mod.

that is the kind of BTA steering setup i was going to put on my son's rig. maybe if i decide to made some new changes i'll tackle that.

i'll have to post some pics but i finally drilled/tapped the aluminum knuckles and will be installing those tomorrow. been distracted by my latest addition (xr10).

by the way, i saw the exceed mad torque at nitrorcx the other day. my son is begging me to get the orange one. for the price it looks like a pretty good basher for a 1/8 scale MOA crawler.

Jebster, I have the MaxStone8 also. It is a fun rig to bash around with. My son plays with it the most. But it is big. No indoor use at all. It works well though. Have not wanted to upgrade anything in it yet. Not like the EMS16 that we have turned into huge projects. But the "project" portion is one of the parts I like the most.
