Cool thread lots of great info. Got the son one this weekend, already need new inner axle shafts. Will try the small piece of rubber between the shaft inside the diff. Would a small piece of eraser work?

He already painted it to match the yj!

Sorry to be a newb but what are MRC and EMS? TIA

MRC stands for mini rock crawler

EMS is a type of very slow international shipping on a container ship I believe.

i know it has been a long time since i've posted anything. my son has been having a blast with his maxstone 16 but we recently had some carnage. i added some additional weight to the front wheels (total of 2.5oz) and that might have been too much. ended up snapping the front stub axle.

so, while we were waiting on parts he wanted to change the look. used a little easy off to strip the green off and put together some new panels. as usual my son drew up the color scheme. he even made the smiley face out of the servo guard (which was also something i made). i think it came out pretty good!

now that it is back together time to get it back on the rocks.

the axle plates where part of the chassis kit. AB Designs makes the chassis for the MRC but with minor mods it works great for the maxstone 16. you could just as easily make a couple plates if you have some sheet aluminum laying around.
as i've said in this thread before seeing my son toss it around on the rock pile and keep coming back for more is impressive. the AB Designs chassis was a good investment for us.

Alright thanks. Through reading other posts on RCC, I figured out how to pretty much eliminated the TT by flipping the motor around. Simple and works great. AAnd put some grease in the gear box, because there wasnt ANY in there. No wonder why it was so loud.

Edit: Put a Exploder body on it.

I hate to be master of the obvious but have you checked your trim dials on your radio? If so you may want to take the batteries out of the remote and then reinstall and rebind to the receiver to the remote. If problem persists you could look into the ESC as malfunctioning.

I am running the stock esc and rx. I did get a replacement radio a while back.

i have tried adjusting the trim.

I will try re-binding the tx to the rx.

thank you

So I lent my crawler to my brother and his kids, my brother figered out that is was the tx trigger causing the glitching. yesterday I took the radio apart and fixed it. it wasn't very hard actually. the throttle sensor backing(small circle, printed circuit board material) is held on by 3 tabs, but it wasn't centered properly. it was sitting to low, causing a short basically(giving the truck throttle). the backing plate has notches where the tabs hold it down so orientation is set. the steering uses the same sensor. I also wiped it clean while I was in there.
