Default nothing will rotate by hand!!!

i just bought a losi night crawler off of ebay. i realize crawlers are slow, but this thing only does like 3mph..not the question though...when i try to rotate the wheels and gears by hand, nothing will move. is this normal for a crawler? any other r/c vehicle i've ever owed this would be a problem.

i believe its the worm gears at work here. only the worm can turn your wheels not vice versa. just the nature of the worm gears

the stock nite crawler is very slow. It definitely benefits from a horsepower upgrade. The traxxas motor seems to be a popular choice on the cheap or brushless if you have the dough. Check out all of the threads in the losi comp crawler section. There's TONS of info for the losi trucks.

Yes it is normal you can not spin the wheels because of the spool worm gear design. About the only way to get good wheel speed is to go brushless and 3s. They are fun toys in stock form but no way fast.
