Any 2-channel radio will get you going until you want to add accessories. You could get a Traxxas 2CH 2.4GHz off of eBay for ~$60. A nice 3-channel radio is the Spektrum DX3E ~$100. Extra functionality and extra channels will bring up the price and many models have specific capabilities while lacking in others. Did you have any immediate plans for accessories to run?

I am just getting in to the hobby and I grabbed a Futaba 3PM 2.4GHz from a member here for a pretty good price, two 1500mAh 6cell NiMH battery packs from Cheap Battery Packs as well as a nice charger (CBP 6i50 Balancer/Charger AC/DC) that does LiPo and has a built in balancer so that I can make the switch later if I choose to. |
