Default What to look for when buying a used Honcho

HI. I am looking to get into the crawling/trail rig end of RC. From what I have been reading, the Axial Honcho looks to be the right fit for what I want to do - some leisure time rc when I'm not racing.
Anyway. I have looked at a couple of used Honcho's online, and would like to know what to look for, such as week spots, wear, and stuff like that.
Thanks
Adam

Im not the Scx10 expert around here by any means but i do buy and sell a large share of used rc stuff some of which i end up regretting even getting into lol. But look for leaking shocks (may need rebuilt, but might just be a plastic cap on it) you might be able to talk em down on the price a little.

Look for obvious breaks, especially on the axles, grinding in the tranny or axles. Loose or worn rod ends, and of course, do some homework on the electronics in it, what they really cost and what they seem to be going for used on ebay or on here.

Look at some stock pictures of the axles and frame check visually for cuts or breaks in the frame ect. Decide if you want the kit version generally more expensive or the stock plastic link version. Anyway that's a little longer than I intended it to be but if you have any more questions about general used purchases and what to look for feel free to pm me. I hope that helped at least some.

well, I've seen lots of posts with driveshafts and knuckles breaking, but I beat the snot outa mine and neither broke. Honestly, I'd look at it like a car ... look for loose joints, signs of wear, bent rods/linkages. Look at servo play, look at how easy(or not) the wheels spin. listen for noises in the tranny. But to tell the truth, unless the whole thing needs parts all over replaced, most the stuff on the honcho is dirt cheap(stock replacement ).
