Both are nice trucks with their goods and bads. I would go with the r1 buggy if scale was more important than price, but the venoms can be had cheap, good luck

I love the looks, love that GMade has every upgrade you want already made for it, just buy them and bolt them on but, I haven't bought one because I already have several bashers and so far I haven't seen the rock climbing performance from the R1 that I hoped for. Please understand, I do not own a R1 so I'm only going from the builds and videos I've seen here on RCC. I really wanted the R1 to be able to comnpete with the other shafty crawlers... I just haven't seen it. I think it'd make a fine weekend crawler, maybe even a decent comp crawler... but for the price? Perhaps I'll pick up a used one someday... after I have a competent comp crawler. | |

you will not be disapointed with the xr10 its very capable out of the box. Just do the 9mm bearing mod or buy the VP trans cases and motorplates and you will have no problems cheers man happy crawling...

I have to admit that the R1 looks extremely cool. It's haunting me now! I must resist the temptation to purchase another RC! |

that G made rock crawler looks good. If they could make it perform like it looks i would buy 1 today but i have not heard alot of good crawlin reviews. If i decide to get into scalers that wil be mine.

Highlucks built one over here. As a rock crawler its OK, as a rock racer it is off its t!ts. Handles really well, and quick as. Awesome truck and great fun to watch. |

I will say this an xr10 is a far more capable crawler than the R1 in every aspect crawling, but you can have the r1 up and running to the best of its ability for around $150-200 extra. The XR10 on the other hand you are up for closer to $400-600 additional cost before you even get close to the best of its ability. If you are on a budget and do not intend to compete heavily I would suggest getting the R1. Or wait for the AX10 to be back on the shelves. HTH |

+1 with highlucks.. Also, i personally think the jump from a scaler, to a 2.2 MOA is a big leap. in terms of knowledge and price.. if you were to go with the R1 or XR, id say R1. They can be just as good as a XR with the right setup. |
