I kind of like it. With my Honcho, sometimes when wrenching I mindlessly spin the throttle. A few times I almost wrapped a servo or LED wire in the tranny gears because I wasn't paying attention. I'll most likely get this just for that reason.

AX80078 Axial Transmission Spur Gear Cover

Actually sounds like a good idea, especially for chassis with very little clearance. I don't think I'm the only one who's tried to chew through wires with that mean ol' spur. Plus it's only 6-7 bucks.

I almost chewed through my battery wires before, for $7 it's cheap insurance against that and other issues.

This is exactly the reason I plan to get one. For the price it's definitely worth trying out. I put a pretty bad ding in two teeth on my spur gear last year. Had to listen to it whining the rest of the weekend. This was on my SCX with a full body.

Looks to be a light weight and well priced piece of insurance.

And one time forgetting that I had unplugged my servo wire and it was dangling down cost me $5.
I'll be getting one for sure.

I dont have issues with wires mine has always been sticks or dirt(I do alot of running in the woods and my dads dirt pit) getting in between the spur and pinion gears and sounding like my motor is about to come apart till it finally slings the debris out, I chewed a pinion gear up with a small rock one time. I think Ill buy one just for better insurance
