Default Quiet motor

I'm currently running a 55t Novak with a rooster esc and I just cleaned out my motor and lubed the bearings and it's still way to loud. It sounds like a powerwheels or a cheap walmart rc. It's kind of a slow churning squeal.

I've also played with the pinion and spur gap to quiet it down but nothing changed when the pinion was almost not even touching the spur.

Are there any other motors out there that are 45t or 55t that might me a little bit more quiet?

Is you motor noisy when it is not installed?

If not, try replacing your spur and pinion.

I had a squeak that turned out to be a sticky driveshaft joint. Just start eliminating parts until you find the source.

How new is the motor? When I first installed my Novak Fifty-Five it sounded like it was going to blow itself up or something, but it was just breaking in the brushes and comm.

It's about a 1 1/2 years old. I'm considering changing my pinion gear. It might not be the right pitch or whatever.. that's another thread

You just need to get you some Holmes Hobbies motors, they are pretty quiet but you may have some noise coming from yours gears.

I got a matching 48 pitch 16 tooth pinion and this made the difference. I assumed the pinion that came on the novak motor would match up fine and be the same pitch but it wasn't. It worked for about a year or so just fine but it just made a lot of noise. It now sounds completely different It's so quiet now
