Default lipo and older esc's?

So i'm new to lipo's and crawlers, neither I have yet. I hope that changes soon. I have been looking around, looks like lipos are the way to go. my question is can I use some thing like this? http://www.teamnovak.com/products/li...ule/index.html
I have a novak super chicken and a bl setup, dont know the name of it. I was thinking of using the super chicken in a crawler when I get one.

i think you should be good with this setup, but i'm not good with lipos so you'll want to get a second opinion

Lipo's will work with ANY esc. The thing you need to watch out for with older units is that they do not have low voltage cutoffs or alarms. That is not a big deal, as you can buy cutoffs and alarms and wire them in.
