Are you running a crawler or scaler?

Essentially nothing is better than virtually nothing. I'll take it.

No, that was a tangent. Derailing is something completely different.

And speaking of Sidewinder, there are some really cheap new Sidewinder SCT ESCs on Ebay right now. Will they work for budget crawler builds? I can't tell if you can program in drag brake for example.

Not sure about the drag brake, but IIRC they are limited to 2s. I'd rather just spend the $ and get a true sidewinder that for sure has the flexability to grow a bit.

My son is running dual SCT's in a 2.2 Bully, he seems happy with them thus far.

The FXR has one of the smallest footprints of any brushed crawler ESC out there, can run 3S on 35T and up motors and is programmable in the field with the onboard buttons and LED tree as well as fully adjustable with the HotWire on a PC/Laptop/Netbook. I realize its more than your $60 budget by a bit but we offer full support on the forums here, online chat and you can call the office number if you need any assistance. We fully back our product with a 120-day manufacturer warranty as well, should anything happen to your ESC in the first days of using it.
